Welcome to Compass Therapy

Amy Wahlstrom-Hitsman, MS, CCC-SLP started Compass Therapy so she can focus on her clients and their families.   She is a passionate clinician with over 15 years of experience treating both children and adults across a range of speech and language conditions.

Amy has worked in a variety of settings, including early intervention, schools, hospitals, and universities.  She worked as an instructor for six years at the University of Hawaii Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders where she held positions as both the clinical and educational coordinator. 

Amy specializes in clients with severe speech disorders and has experience in obtaining AAC/speech-generating devices for her clients.  

She has a particular love for providing voice therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and she was the keynote speaker at the 2018 Hawaii Parkinson Association Symposium.

Over the past 5 years, Amy has worked as a teletherapist. She strives to make sessions individualized and engaging for clients of all ages.

Licensed in Alaska, Hawaii, Maine

When not providing therapy,  Amy loves spending time with her family. They enjoy cooking, gardening, listening to music, being outdoors
and traveling.
